“Patience is the best remedy for every trouble.” ~ Plautus
This week I had a wrestling match with my bed sheets.
I’m sure you can easily envision the event and perhaps you have experienced it yourself.
My weekly laundry includes washing and drying bed sheets and sometimes I can get my fitted sheets back on the bed quickly and I feel a strange sense of both accomplishment and relief.
Other times, like this week, it looked like I was in the middle of a wrestling match and I was on the losing end.
The more frustrated I became, the more it seemed like the sheets were going to win.
Silly thoughts, right?
But I think even something as ordinary as getting fitted bed sheets in the right place has lessons that can be learned.
Patience. Just breathe. Take a break. Walk away. Come back, start over and try again.
There are times in life when you get frustrated and impatient. You don’t understand why you are faced with a challenge that you weren’t expecting.
Why is this happening?
Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a break and stop being so hard on yourself.
Eventually, things will work out, even when it doesn’t look like it will.
And taking a break and recognizing that choice, makes life much more enjoyable.
Especially when you are trying to make the bed…

This week’s Smile video…
According to many of her senior classmates here at Waunakee High School in Wisconsin, 18-year-old Molly Schafer was a loner. But before graduation, she leaned on her artistic skills to reconnect and learned an important lesson in the process. Steve Hartman has the story "On the Road."

I totally do the 'bed thing' especially with duvet covers!! This is good advice and a timely reminder for me to breath at times! I'll share a link to this in my next newsletter.
Yes! Sometimes rest is best! I look forward to checking out your connections with the others that you shared!
